This week in grade 3...

Hello Everyone, I hope you are enjoying the new year.

We are going skating this Wednesday and again next week Tuesday. Please ensure that your child brings skates in a bag or with guards on them. They must also wear winter clothing and a helmet.

In our Living and Working in Ontario unit we are studying about the different land regions. Soon, we will delve into municipalities and the communities within them. As a class, we would love to hear from different people who work in the community. The class has put together a list of community workers we would like to hear from. If you, or someone you knows has any of the following jobs and would like to talk about your job for 10-15 minutes during a school day in February please send me an email. Thank-you. :) cmerkus@rehoboth.on.ca

Welcome to 2015!

Hello everyone, I hope everyone has enjoyed their break to the fullest and has had lots of opportunity to spread the name of Jesus. :) I also hope that you all enjoyed your time with family and friends. With that being said, welcome to 2015. Crazy. Here we go.

We will be having a poetry contest in February and so I ask that each student selects a poem that he or she will memorize. Their poem has to be at least 16 lines minimum. They can't use any props or cue cards and they need to bring in a copy of their poem by this Friday.

Here's some of the things the judges and I will be looking for when they deliver their poem:
Speed, volume, enunciation, voice expression, face expression, enthusiasm, gestures, posture, hand action (no fidgeting), eye contact, ease of delivery/comfortability

Schedule:
Monday: Read pages 105-110
