Finishing up October...

Hello, here we are in the last week of October. The time is going by VERY quickly. Here's what is happening this week:

Monday:
Tuesday:
Wednesday: Bring in R.A.C.; Mission Bake Sale
Thursday: Spelling Test - List #6
Friday: Early Communities - keynote presentations; Memory Work - Exodus 20:12; Library

This week we are focusing on The Reformation. We are specifically studying John Calvin. Throughout the week we will be reading a book about him and participating in activities on his life. I hope that the students can learn a lot about why the reformation needed to happen so they can be thankful for the men and women that risked their lives so that the church could again be filled with the Word and true worship to our heavenly Father.

We will also be doing a lot of work on our Early Communities projects. We are currently in the research stage and are writing down ideas. Starting Wednesday we will be learning how to make an effective keynote to help enhance our presentation.

Reformation Week:

This week we are studying the Reformation. We will be taking a more detailed look at the reformer, John Calvin. The students wrote down things that they know (K) and want to know (W) today during our language block. Throughout the week we will read a book on John Calvin, watch a video and do other Reformation activities. On Friday, we will fill in the remainder of the chart with what we have learned about the Reformation (L). I encourage you to ask you child about John Calvin to help reinforce the information they are learning. :)

Enjoy your day!
