Community Buildings INFO:

Now is the chance for your child to get creative and use their imagination. If your child would like to make a house, hospital, fire station, walk-in clinic, business, school, florist shop, repair shop, etc., then it would be best to use cardboard or thin plywood.  It will hang from the desktop so there will be no support from the floor.  You may add windows, curtains, fireplace, etc.  The inside of the house/building may be decorated with wrapping paper, furniture from catalogues, flyers, etc. If you reuse a building from previous years, it may remain the same structurally. However, the inside and outside must be changed significantly. Please remember that this is a Grade Three project and each building should reflect the work of each student. Parental involvement is much appreciated and necessary for this project; however, the student’s buildings should demonstrate the student’s work as much as possible.

The dimensions in the diagram below need to be followed closely in order for your child’s building to fit properly, otherwise it will fall off the desktop.

The students may also have a mailbox.  It can be glued to the student’s left side of the house.  It should be no wider than 4 centimetres, otherwise it will impede the progress of the street vehicles and pedestrians.

Buildings are due Monday, January 29, 2016 - City Sale will be Friday, March 4, 2016 from 11:20-1:20.

If you have any further questions, send me an email.

Meet the Little Rabbit.. :)

This Week in Grade 3...

Hello,

I hope you have all enjoyed your extra long weekend. :) This week is Mission Week. We will be studying George Mueller as our missionary in grade 3. He was a father to the fatherless and lived a life of prayer. Throughout the week we will be reading a book about him and participating in some activities to enhance our learning. We are also hoping to fill our "coin jar" to the very top this week, so if you can, send in any extra change/cash you may have.

If you can host the rabbits, we are still looking for hosts for the family day weekend! Send me an email.

Next week Tuesday we hope to go skating as a class again!
